Loc Piston System Kit

The functioning of the piston system is rather straightforward. Positioned within the airframe, the piston is located above the motor and below the parachute. It is connected to the motor mount using a nylon strap that is bonded to both the motor mount and the piston. Upon activation of the ejection charge, pressure builds up between the motor and the bottom of the piston, causing the piston to move upwards, thereby detaching the rocket and deploying the parachute. It's as simple as that. No special preparations are required - simply insert the piston, pack in the parachute, and you're finished.
